About the Doctor
Dr.
C.R. (Chip) Edwards, Jr.
was born in Orlando in 1952. Dr. Edwards graduated from Boone High
School in 1970 and went on to receive his Bachelor of Science in
biology at Rhodes College in Memphis, Tennessee in 1974. He attended
Emory University for his dental degree and received his diploma
in 1979. From there he completed his Dental General Practice Residency
at the Medical College of Virginia/VA Hospital in Richmond, VA.
He finished his residency in 1980.
Dr. Edwards began his private practice in 1980, alongside Dr. William
Epps, at 245 San Marcos Avenue in Sanford, FL. In early 2000, Dr.
Edwards began making plans to relocate his practice. In July 2002,
Dr. Edwards moved his practice to 2509 S. Park Drive.
Dr. Edwards is experienced in all phases of dental care with an
emphasis on periodontal and restorative and cosmetic dentistry.
His staff and patients know him for his impeccable, compassionate
dentistry. He continually seeks better methods in completing procedures,
but always thinks of his patient's needs and fears first. Although
many people hate going to the dentist, everyone feels at ease and
cared for in Dr. Edwards' chair.
For all of his professional attributes, Dr. Edwards is also well-known
for his lighthearted personality. So
if you happen to visit the office and hear laughter in the next
treatment room, don't be alarmed, it's just Dr. Edwards trading
jokes with a patient.
His hobbies
include boating, hunting and fishing and spending time with his
children and two grandchildren.

Gum disease may lead to heart disease. Gum infections pose as great
a risk for heart disease as smoking and elevated cholesterol. Dental
infections can work their way through the blood vessels and nerves
of your teeth. If an abscess forms and an infection enters your
bloodstream, it can be carried to other parts of your body. Gum
infections can progress without pain or noticeable symptoms, so
most people are not aware of its presence.
As one of Dr. Edwards' Dental Hygienist, Libbey has extensive experience
with periodontal compromised patients.
